Are you guilty of walking and texting at the same time? Do you get really annoyed when other people walk and text in busy thoroughfares and threaten to run into you? Whatever your thoughts, the practice appears to be on the rise and the potential for injury appears to be increasing with it.
Apparently, help is at hand with an iPhone app that is either blindingly brilliant in its simplicity or a joke that may just save a life. I can’t decide which so I’ll let you be the judge.
The app is simply called ‘Type n Walk’ and ingenuously uses the iPhone’s camera to transmit the image of the road ahead in the background of the text message you are typing. The effect is that as you are looking down typing you can actually what’s up ahead at the same time.
